Digital Twin

Premium

Model your entire organization's capacity. Create resource pools, assign team members, and detect conflicts before they derail projects.

What It Does

The Digital Twin creates a virtual model of your organization:

  • Resource Pools: Group team members by skill (Dev Team, QA, Design, etc.)
  • Capacity Tracking: Define hours per week for each pool and member
  • Node Assignments: Link canvas tasks to resource pools
  • Conflict Detection: Find over-allocations before they happen
  • Capacity Forecasting: Visualize utilization over time

How to Set Up

  1. 1

    Create Resource Pools

Go to Settings → Resources. Click "+ Create Pool" to define teams (e.g., Backend Engineering).

  2. 2

    Add Team Members

Click into a pool and add members with their weekly capacity (e.g., 40 hours/week).

  3. 3

    Assign Resources to Tasks

Edit any task node on the canvas. Expand the "Resource Assignment" section and select a pool.

  4. 4

    Run Conflict Detection

Visit the Capacity Dashboard to see utilization and any detected over-allocations.

Conflict Detection

Over-Allocation Alert

When a pool's required hours exceed available capacity, you'll see alerts with:

  • Conflict week: When the over-allocation occurs
  • Required vs available: Hours needed vs capacity
  • Over-allocation %: How much you're over budget
  • Affected tasks: Which nodes are competing for resources

Capacity Dashboard

The Capacity Dashboard (Dashboard → Capacity) shows:

Utilization Timeline

Weekly capacity bars for each pool. Green/amber/red based on utilization.

Pool Summary

Total capacity, average utilization, and active conflict count per pool.

Conflict Alerts

Active conflicts displayed at top with links to resolution.

Forecast View

Project capacity needs over the coming weeks/months.

Best Practices

Set a utilization target below 100% (e.g., 80%) to account for meetings, context switching, and unplanned work.

Create pools for skill sets, not org chart—e.g., "React Developers" not "Frontend Team".

Assign hours per day to tasks (not per week) for more accurate conflict detection.
