Multiverse Planner

Premium

Explore parallel timelines. Create scenario branches to answer "what-if" questions without affecting your baseline plan.

What It Does

The Multiverse Planner lets you create alternate versions of your project:

  • "What if we hire 2 more developers?" — Create a scenario with reduced durations
  • "What if we cut feature X?" — Create a scenario with removed nodes
  • "What if the vendor delivers late?" — Create a pessimistic scenario

Each scenario is a branch of your base project with independent nodes, edges, and simulation results.

Scenario Templates

Optimistic

Reduces all durations by 20% and removes low-priority risks. Best-case scenario.

Pessimistic

Increases all durations by 30% and adds high-impact risks. Worst-case scenario.

Resource Constrained

Reduces parallel work and increases serial dependencies. Limited team scenario.

Custom

Start with a baseline copy and make your own modifications.

How to Use

  1. 1

    Open Scenario Manager

Find the Layers icon in the canvas toolbar. Click to open the dropdown.

  2. 2

    Create New Scenario

Click "+ Create Scenario" and choose a template or start custom.

  3. 3

    Modify the Scenario

Edit nodes, adjust durations, add/remove risks—changes only affect this scenario.

  4. 4

    Run Simulations

Run Monte Carlo on each scenario. Results are cached per scenario.

  5. 5

    Compare Results

Open the Comparison Dialog to see side-by-side P50/P85/P95 timelines.

Comparison Dialog

Overview Tab

Side-by-side timeline comparison showing P50, P85, and P95 completion dates for each scenario.

Timeline Tab

Visual timeline bars showing how scenarios differ in duration and critical path.

AI Summary Tab

AI-generated comparison: "Scenario B is 20% faster but 15% riskier due to reduced buffer." Costs 5 credits.

Best Practices

Keep your baseline scenario unchanged—branch from it for what-if analysis.

Use descriptive scenario names that explain the hypothesis (e.g., "+2 Devs, No Feature X").

Run batch simulations to compare all scenarios at once instead of one-by-one.
